Gracie’s Story
Michael Boyle, founder of the Gracie’s Bar Group, has been immersed in the hospitality industry from a young age. Working alongside his parents, Declan and Michelle Boyle, founders of the McCafferty’s Bar Group. Michael gained hands-on experience in every aspect of the family business and developed a deep grá (love) for the trade.
Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Michael opened his first bar in May 2022. When McHugh’s Bar, Sligo came up for sale, he seized the opportunity to transform the iconic venue with a full renovation, an extension, and a brand-new identity, Gracie’s Bar.
The name Gracie’s is a heartfelt tribute to Michael’s beloved grandmother, Gracie, who passed away in 2017. She played a huge role in his life, and naming the bar in her honour ensures her memory lives on.
Following the success of Gracie’s Sligo, Michael expanded the brand with the opening of Gracie’s Bar, Carrick-on-Shannon, in November 2022. Both venues have continued to thrive, with further locations planned for the near future.
