Cook Counseling and Consulting Inc. is a mission-driven, veteran-owned mental health organization dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible, and evidence-based behavioral healthcare to individuals and families across multiple states. Founded by Shelby Cook, LISW-S, LCSW-QS, CCTP, the practice has grown from a solo provider into a thriving, multi-location organization with more than 80 highly skilled clinicians and support staff. With Central Ohio locations in Gahanna, Pataskala, Reynoldsburg, Lancaster, Baltimore, and Buckeye Lake, and telehealth services available in several states, we proudly serve clients ages 3 to 103. Our interdisciplinary team includes psychotherapists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and graduate-level trainees who bring diverse training and specializations to support a wide range of client needs. We offer an expansive list of services, including individual, couples, and family therapy; psychiatric evaluations and medication management; Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP); psychological assessments for ADHD, Autism, diagnostic clarification, and WPATH letters; as well as weekly therapy groups focused on trauma, anxiety, and coping skills. Our practice sets itself apart through our high client retention rate (over 97%), low no-show rate (under 3%), and our commitment to measurement-based care using tools such as the GAD-7, PHQ-9, and PCL-5. As pioneers in the Safe and Sound Protocol, Cook Counseling actively contributes to emerging research on trauma-informed and polyvagal-aligned treatment. We believe healing happens within safe relationships, and our team strives to provide a compassionate, inclusive, and empowering environment for every client. At Cook Counseling and Consulting Inc., our mission is simple: deliver exceptional care, foster resilience, and help our clients and communities thrive.
