Sheila Kerr designer goldsmith works from her harbourside studio in Irvine. Sheila was extremely shocked at winning the award of Independent Jewellery Store of the year in 2025 as this was the fourth time she was a finalist and had previously won the award three times already in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Sheila is so grateful to all who voted for her. Sheila has won several awards including the National Association of Jewellers Designer of the year (UK) runner up in 2016. Sheila Kerr Jewellery has had a working studio based in the Courtyard Studios, 128 Harbour Street, Irvine since 2011. She designs and creates the jewellery on site and also has displays of finished pieces available to purchase. A visit to the studio is an experience and Sheila is always happy to explain the working processes that are used in her Jewellery pieces on display. The studio looks out over the harbour so the view can change as the weather changes. Sheila was formerly a lecturer in business management but a restructure in 2008 forced her to rethink her options. She continued to work but returned to her local college to learn silversmithing moving on to goldsmithing and other jewellery making techniques. In 2011 she decided to go full time with her business and gave up her full time job. Starting up a new business is never easy with many challenges to face but Sheila loves her work and so it has all been worth it. Sheila also offers a fully bespoke service both online and by appointment at her studio. Customers come from all over the UK and abroad.
